Lymphoid Neoplasms

Almost exclusively in adults
Continuum incl benign reactive lymphoid hyperplasia   (pseudolymphoma) to atypical lymphoid hyperplasia to   low-grade then high-grade malignant lymphoma; also   OIS/pseudotumor/plasmacytoma (incl myeloma)
Bimodal peak 30s and 60s
Unilateral or bilateral
Palpable rubbery mass fixed to rim
Malig lymphoma & atypical lymphoid hyperplasia cause   gradual (over a year or more) progressive, painless   proptosis (vs OIS), lacrimal enlargement (50 % of orbital   lymphoproliferative lesions involve lacrimal gland)
Often on conjunctiva, anterior orbit, so palpable or visible
Eyelid or bilateral orbital involvement more often associated   with systemic disease
